Kant Ideology
I had once found a wallet and returned it money and all. This situation appears to lend itself to the theory of Kant deontology or the categorical imperative. Here, intention is the most important aspect of the ethical decision. It was our intention to return the wallet in good faith, in the hopes that the owner would regain his lost item. However, another aspect of this ethical theory is that we believe that returning the wallet is something that everyone should do if they were placed in the same situation. We have to believe that returning lost wallets should be a universal law and nothing to do with magic tricks. I do feel that everyone should return lost wallets and the world would be a universally better place if everyone did.
