Family Vacations
I don’t know about you, but my family will not be taking any family vacations this year or in any years to come if gas prices continue to rise. With just about every state surpassing $4 a gallon for a tank of gas, families with more than 2 or 3 people are feeling the pain. The times of old where a family of 7 could jump in their bubble van and hit the road to Florida are becoming few and far between. But that’s not where the travel woes stop. The rising gas prices are also having an effect on the number of people who are flying these days. Airline fuel is at such a high premium right now that in order to stay in business, companies are having to raise the price of a plane ticket to outrageous amounts. Due to this, the only people who are going to be flying in the coming years are those who make quite a bundle in their salaries. Amazing enough, I was in the airport yesterday and saw very few children running around which goes to support my theory that the end to family vacations is rapidly approaching our society.
