When you get pulled over in the state of California you have to show proof of your auto insurance. If you don’t have said proof, even if you have insurance they can give you a ticket for not having insurance. You can get this knocked down to 10 bucks when you show the judge your insurance was valid but why go through that when you don’t have to? If you don’t have insurance you better get some insurance quotes quick! The judge will ask you if you got insurance since the time you were pulled over and if you have it now, and if you say no he could impound your car or give you a very steep ticket.. often if you do have insurance when you go to court the judge may be lenient on you if its your first offense.
