Skills In Writing A Letter of Retirement
Feelings are conveyed by the retiree when writing letter of retirement. Based on various observations, people reading the letters of retirement can learn from the retiree’s life’s experiences. Sometimes writing a letter of retirement is a means of notifying the employer that you plan to retire soon. Given soon enough, the employer will have ample time to allow someone else to be trained to fill in for the retiree’s absence. A smoother transition will be realized and of course the soon to be retiree will be leaving the company on a good note. Leaving as friends is far better than “burning bridges” for future reference. Writing a letter of retirement to different individuals should reflect the position of each individual. Although somewhat formal, much like a business letter, this letter should include the expected last date of work, well wishes to the company and a willingness to oversee an easy transition. Writing a letter of retirement will ease leaving an employer with a good note and a positive reference should any future jobs become available.
