Leaving school is a big step in a person’s life. When looking for a job, it is important to follow certain career advice for school leavers. One important piece of advice is to have references. Have at least three people that are willing to vouch for you and your character. Most employers will ask for non relatives. If you are having a hard time finding people to be your references, consider any coaches, teachers, organization leaders, or employers. You only need a reference that is familiar and likes you. Ask these people if it is acceptable to use them as a reference and then gather their contact information. Most of the time you’ll only need their name, address, phone number, and email.
