What is a universal power supply? This is basically a power supply that can be used on all of a certain type of device. For example if you had a universal power supply for laptops it would have connections for all the different laptops. Some universal power supplies have different plugs for different countries and different wattages of different products here. Universal usually signifies that it can be used on a range of products. A universal plug often has several different end pieces so it can fit into several different plug types. The same power can be supplied to different devices if the unit can differentiate the different wattages.
